Packwood
So here we are, in the Packwood, WA area. Four of us flew from
Los Angeles, CA. Others drove from Los Angeles through Lake Tahoe for
a few days and then met us in Eugene, OR. Frank flew in from
North Carolina to be with us. All in all, I don't know how we manage to
make plans work out and get our travelling circus to destination.

At any rate, after we all met in Eugene, OR, we drove up to Packwood. It
is located somewhere in between Mt. St. Helens to the south and
Mt. Rainier to the north. From there we staged all of our rides, hikes
and various adventures.

25 July 2002 - Thursday
Arrival at Packwood Washington

Here we are, finally arrived at our house in Packwood. What a long drive in pee-breaks, food stops and shopping. Needless to say, we finally made it.there.
The first picture shows part of the gang with the plethora of bikes. The second pic shows some of the "kids" being kids. Then there's Frank and Tim hanging out and enjoying a cold brew. I had to get my bike out of the box and together for the riding to follow.

Here's a picture of what our back yard looked like. It was gorgeous!

26 July 2002 - Friday
First ride

Our first ride took place around the Norway Pass area of Mt. St. Helens. We of course went the wrong way but had a good ride anyway. The first picture is of Ellie and Bob sitting on the wall at Norway Pass look out. The second of myself on my bike posing. The third picture is of Troy coming down the trail with Bob and Tim close behind.

After the ride, we looked around. Here's Spirit Lake.
