The CFHT is mainly used by Canadian and French astronomers as well as by astronomers affiliated with University of Hawaii.
Canadian astronomers belong to CASCA, the Canadian Astronomical Society/Société Canadienne d'astronomie. On that website can be found a list of Canadian Astronomy Sites, including Canadian Astronomy/Physics Departments and Canadian Observatories .
In France, the Société Française d'astronomie et d'astrophysique is an association of people working in astronomy. Its website lists observatories and research institutes in France as well as government agencies which deal with astronomy in France.
The Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii has faculty and staff members who conduct research in various fields of astronomy, are involved in astronomy education, and in the development and management of the observatories on Haleakala and Mauna Kea.
In addition to these users, CFHT has opened its facility for use by Korean and Tawainese astronomers, in exchange for work done towards the construction of a wide-field infrared imaging camera, WIRCam.
The Korean Astronomical Observatory has entered this collaborative agreement in order to provide Korean Astronomers with access to a versatile international telescope facility and to participate in the technical development of the WIRCAM project. The goal of the KAO is to build a strong, internationally competitive observational program of optical-infrared astronomy in Korea. The KAO has an english web page, but its main web information is here in Korean. The largest telescope on the Korean soil, a 1.8-m telescope built in France, is at Mt Bohyun.
