It is a little known fact that one can make some pretty tasty ice cream
using liquid nitrogen as the heat catalyst. The ingredients are listed
below.
To make about 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream
---
3 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups of half/half cream
3 cups of skim milk
1 1/4 cups of sugar
4 liters (1 gallon) of liquid nitrogen
1-2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
Simply add all the ingredients together in a large, metal mixing bowl
or stew pot. Then put your safety goggles and gloves on and have a
friend slowly pour liquid nitrogen into the cream mixture you just
mixed. The initial pour only be about 2 coups worth of liquid
nitrogen. Stir that until all the liquid nitrogen has evaporated and
then have your friend pour some more in (about the same amount, 2
cups). Repeat that process until you are satisfied with the ice cream
consistency. It usually takes me about 4 minutes to make 1/2 gallon!
