With approximately 20 micro-climates, the Big Island offers an incredible
variety of landscapes, vegetation, weather and temperature. The west
coast of the island is always more dry, with most moisture, carried by the
dominant trade winds blowing out of the north-east, trapped against the
windward eastern slopes of the island.
