QUEUE SCHEDULING AT CFHT !
Due to some logistical, financial, technical and manpower issues, the
CFHT Executive has decided in May 1999 that the queue scheduling/service
observing (QS/SO) program
for CFH12k originally planned for the semester 1999II will be postponed
until the semester 2000I. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope
that this delay allow us to develop a very efficient QS/SO program for
next year.

Documentation and Progress Report:
Below, you will find some documents presenting the general concept
of queue scheduling/service observing and
an outline of the operational model
to be implemented at CFHT. For 1999II, the Phase I electronic form
for the proposals (``Poopsy'') has been extensively used. Except for
a few glitches and some problems with the Sybase system, everything went
rather smoothly. We have received many suggestions and those will be
implemented for the next version. We are at the moment working on the
Phase II system as well as the scheduling software. CFHT has also created
a working group for implementing a remote observing room in Waimea and
from which the observations will be conducted for the QS/SO mode...
