Progress on Refurbishment of the UH 2.2-m Telescope

The design phase of the renovations to the UH 2.2m telescope has been
completed and we are currently in the final stages of assigning
external contracts.   Today, we will present more details of the work
planned on both the exterior and interior of the facility, the
telescope itself, its sub-systems, and instrumentation.  In addition,
we will present a somewhat more detailed description of the major
upgrade to the telescope control system aimed at eventual robotic
operation of the observatory.   The talk will be split between Bob
Calder, Senior Engineer of the UH88, and Luke McKay, Telescope
Engineer.  Bob will describe the overall plan while Luke will present
details of the new Observatory Control System.
