The CFHTLS-VW: Preliminary Results and Coming Attractions in KBOs
Lynne Allen, Brett Gladman, JJ Kavelaars, Jean-Marc Petit

What can be learned from the Kuiper Belt Objects detected in the CFHTLS-VW so far%3F Over 100 KBOs have been detected%3B the majority of these have been discovered in data taken in 2004 (due to the much faster acquisition pace in 2004). The CFHTLS-VW observational strategy is working well to determine orbits for these discoveries, as will be demonstrated, but most orbital parameters simply cannot be measured accurately enough to be used as model constraints with less than a two-year observational baseline. We will show what could be possible with a longer observational arc. In the meantime, much more coarse characterizations of the Kuiper belt and comparisons with the previously known sample of KBOs will be made.
