Min Yun (UMass) Color and morphology of the local and z=1 Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies (ULIRGs) Abstract: There is growing evidence that galaxy merger plays an important role in the stellar mass build-up and maybe the growth of the supermassive black holes. I will discuss the analysis of the color-magnitude distribution and non-parametric morphologial properties of z=0.1 ULIRGs and some surprising trends found. Using these as the local calibration, I will also briefly discuss the observed properties of z~1 ULIRGs. The presence of AGNs and their influence in these traditional analysis will also be discussed.
