Eugene Magnier, CFHT Automated Analysis and Database Astronomy: Elixir and the CFHT Taurus Brown Dwarf Survey The Elixir System at CFHT provides high-quality calibrations for data taken with the wide-field imagers, CFH12K and MegaPrime. Observers receive images which have been flattened, de-fringed, calibrated astrometrically, and which have standard-star zero-point information in the image headers. It is now crucial that observatories provide advanced data processing for the end users given the high volume of astronomical data. Further data handling capabilities are also needed to manipulate the large number of object detections available with modern imaging datasets. The CFHT Elixir Desktop Virtual Observatory system (DVO) is one example of a sophisticated data handling tool. We present a case study of the CFHT Taurus Brown Dwarf Survey as an example of the use of DVO for scientific analysis. Large conference room, thursday september 11th at 11am
