Chris Pritchet (UVIC) Title: Canadian Long Range Plan Abstract: The Long Range Plan, LRP 2010, commissioned by the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA), was successfully published in December last year. Led by a scientific panel drawn from a broad range of specializations in astronomy and astrophysics, the objective of the LRP 2010 was to survey and evaluate the status of large projects currently underway with significant involvement from Canadian astronomers and engineers, as well as future ones still being designed or proposed. Based on extensive consultation with the community through four, well attended town hall meetings held in strategic locations across Canada, the document prioritizes the projects identified, balancing opportunities and needs against available resources in order to maximize the scientific contribution of the nation. In this presentation, I will summarize the pertinent details and findings of our consultative process, and the recommendations put forth in the report.
