Rolf Kudritzki Institute for Astronomy, University of Hawaii at Manoa "Astronomy at the University of Hawaii" The Institute for Astronomy (IfA) at the University of Hawaii is the host institution and scientific partner of many national and international astronomical institutions on Mauna Kea and Halekala. With 320 employees, 40 tenure track faculty, 80 scientists with a PhD and 35 PhD students it is also one of the largest astronomical university institutes in the world. The talk gives an overview about the IfA, its organizational structure, scientific activities and future projects.
