Pressure on Telescope Time

This graph shows the so-called "pressure" on telescope time, i.e. the ratio of the number of nights requested over the number of nights available, over the past semesters for the two main CFHT users communities, Canada and France.

Semester 2007A

The graph above shows the number of nights requested by Canada (C), France and Opticon (F) and Taiwan (T) over the various instruments for 2007A.

The graph above shows the number of nights allocated to each of the four communities served by CFHT: Canada (C), France and Opticon (F), Hawaii (H), and Taiwan (T) for 2007A.

The graph above shows the relative use of the instruments as a fraction of the total allocation for each of the four communities served by CFHT: Canada (C), France and Opticon (F), Hawaii (H), and Taiwan (T) for 2007A.

The graph above gives the ratio between the number of nights allocated and requested for a given instrument. It can be interpreted as the success rate of the proposals on each instrument.

Semester 2006B

The graph above shows the number of nights requested by Canada (C), France and Opticon (F) and Taiwan (T) for 2006B.

The graph above shows the number of nights allocated to each of the four communities served by CFHT: Canada (C), France and Opticon (F), Hawaii (H), and Taiwan (T) for 2007A.

The graph above shows the relative use of the instruments as a fraction of the total allocation for each of the four communities served by CFHT: Canada (C), France and Opticon (F), Hawaii (H), and Taiwan (T) for 2006B.

The graph above gives the ratio between the number of nights allocated and requested for a given instrument. It can be interpreted as the success rate of the proposals on each instrument.
