Here is a very brief description of some possible overlap with SPIRE
observations. A wide-wide survey should have some standalone science but
with a wide area the value and ease of overlapping fields goes up.

It is starting to seem that the "natural size" is about 5000 square
degrees, rather than 10,000. This smaller area would allow more filters
and more easily include synoptic (i.e. KBOs and Sne) observations.

Depending on what the SAC recommends it would be worth thinking about
having a meeting sometime in the fall to co-ordinate ideas.

Hi Ray,

We'll add you to the e-mail list. The CFHT plans are quite important.
The two science themes which are driving the location (unfortunately
not in the same direction) are the need to follow up Planck sources
and the general extra-galactic survey, which should detect 500,000
galaxies, including 150,000 at z < 0.3. The three locations we
have been looking at are:

i) ecliptic poles - Planck goes deeper there

ii) SDSS equatorial strip - good for local galaxies and ALMA follow-up

iii) VIKING/KIDS/2DFGRS - same reasons as ii

Any further information about the CFHT plans would therefore
be most useful.

                  cheers, Steve
