The WIRCam Preprocessing Pipeline
Loic Albert (CFHT), Doug Teeple (CFHT)

Abstract: Based on its first full year of operation (2006), WIRCam's productivity, averages ~30,000 images per semester (roughly 500 GB-semester). Although a, factor 10 less than Megacam's production, the WIRCam preprocessing pipeline, faces other challenges of which sky subtraction, crosstalk and non-linearity, are the most important. Crosstalk, in particular, proves difficult to remove, entirely and residus appear in deep stacks - ongoing lab work is seeking a, hardware solution. Preprocessing of the data and its distribution to the, community were affected by the efforts put in developping the pipeline itself, and bringing improvements to the crosstalk correction. However, raw data for, semesters 05B and 06A as well as most of the preprocessed data have been, delivered. Among the new features being brought to the pipeline before 06B, preprocessed data is distributed are: 1) zero-points now available in all, narrow-band filters, 2) better crosstalk correction, 3) non-linearity, correction, 4) better source masking during sky construction.
