TO Tips: DOME
- When you move the shutters, they are less likely to get stuck if you hold the switch continuously (use elastic band for example).
- The shutter is stuck anyway, you can
- move the dome manually a little bit (dome mode manual, white switch + joystick),
- inside the dome, reset by turning the key corresponding to the shutter (red light on), or both;
if still stuck, begin to move it manually.
- Shutter limits:
The lower shutter is down for air masses inferior or equal to 1.5,
and up for air masses superior or equal to 1.2 (cf air masse chart).
When you move the shutter while slewing, the computer might be confused and send you a beep alarm, use key F8 to reset.
Check if and how the dome motors are working,
if the dome is not rotating, you may have to reset one of them (switch on left pannel in the computer room).
The command "DOME" will confirm that everything is OK.
The command "FLATS" will send the telescope to
HA = 00:00:00.00 and DEC = -39:00:00.0
and Telescope azimuth = 180.0, Dome azimuth = 314.2 and Elevation = 31.2.
Do not forget to "-FLATS"!
The dome is rotating in the wrong direction, have you entered "-FLATS"?
Move it manually if everything else has failed.
