always check the platform position.
- Fill the night report, including temperatures at the beginning
of the night and midnight, seeing, ...
- Work with the "inside dome noises" on,
learn to identify the different noises and beep,
and be constantly aware of them.
- Always check the shutters position and warn the astronomers
1/2hr before the limit.
- Always check you are in BEAM A before you correct the coordinates, zero the offset...
- Do not correct the coordinates or zero the offset while guiding.
- Always remember to stop guiding before you move to the next object.
- Check the equinox before you blame the pointing...
- You STOP THE SLEWING by hitting the guiding buttons or ENTER.
Consequence, if the telescope stop slewing, it might be because somebody has inadvertently hit one of those buttons.
- Be constantly aware of the percentage of HUMIDITY,
set the alarm according to the circumstances,
and close everything if it reaches 92%,
mirror cover first,do not forget the backdoor!
You must close too, when the wind is stronger than 45mph,
or when you can see dust in your flashlight beam.
Do not hesitate to call other telescopes to share informations.
EVERYBODY MUST GO BACK TO HALE POHAKU, BEFORE IT BECOMES DANGEROUS
TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD!
