TO Tips: TELESCOPE

"5-6" Procedure: This procedure correct the pointing and should be executed about once a week (cf folder). While at the zenith (DEC = 19.49.##.#), find an adequate star

The NSFCAM guiding program will provide you with the best available candidates in those two areas,
or you can use StarCat, move to both area and search for a nearby star (FK5 catalog).

Tracking adjustments: Zero the offset and measure the time in between each correction.
Example: an adjustment of -1.1 arcsec (the telescope is not tracking fast enough to the west / you see the object "moving" to the west on your screen) is necessary after 10', you need to add -1.1/600*cos(DEC) to the RA tracking rate.
You might find out it is sometimes faster to "guess" the corrections.
