TO Tips: TROUBLE SHOOTING LIST
Still working on it...
- You cannot find the object with the camera:
- Mirror cover opened?
- Mirror in?
- Focus adjusted to the temperature changes (up when colder, down when warmer)?
- Proper equinox?
- Do a spiral or scan manually to find it.
- Check the values of the coefficients have not changed drastically
since the beginning of the night, compare also with the last "5-6" procedure.
Reenter them if necessary.
- Do a "5-6" procedure.
- When you move the shutter while slewing, the computer might be confused and send you a beep alarm, use key F8 to reset.
- The telescope is OFF LIMITS.
- You have reached the SOFTWARE LIMIT (beep),
just move toward the zenith or another object until the telescope is safe again, using system override.
- You have reached the HARDWARE LIMIT (no beep! only red light on),
If the TCS is still on, just do as above,
if not, you have to move the telescope out of the limit manually,
switch system mode to manual,
move out,
switch system mode back to standard,
restart the TCS program,
PB 5 on a nearby BS,
(has lost the pointing but the default should hopfully be good enough to find a BS).
Be aware that for certain moves of the telescope (heading north), you can reach the hardware limit before the software limit, no beep, watch the lights!
- The scaffold limit is an obsolete alarm you don't need to worry about.
- If the telescope stop slewing, it might be because somebody has inadvertently hit one of the guiding buttons.
