• ISO results (Genzel et al) reveal that

  • 70 to 80% of ulirgs are powered by starburst. Remainder by AGN.
  • At least 50% of the sources have both occurring simultaneously.

• Many questions remain: evolutionary model, trigger, merging, etc?
