I have been a resident astronomer for the Canada-France-Hawaii
Telescope Corporation
(CFHT) since July 1999. I am
currently the QSO
manager and the instrument scientist responsible for the
spectropolarimeter
ESPaDOnS.
My scientific interests concern polarimetry of young stars of the T
Tauri type, astrobiology (using spectropolarimetry to detect signs of
life), spectroscopy (of hot Be stars with dust), and optical/infra-red
imaging (to find new young stars of the Herbig Ae/Be type).
Since June 2007, I'm on the Canadian Astronomical Society
(CASCA) Board of Directors, where I serve as its
Secretary.
When I'm not at work, I'm having fun with Jeff in
Ninole,
where we moved after building a house, and where we are planting trees,
on a 15-acre piece of property.

Je suis astronome résidente pour la Société du
Télescope Canada-France-Hawaii
(CFHT) depuis juillet
1999. Présentement, je suis responsable des
observations en mode
Queue et du bon fonctionnement du spectro-polarimètre
ESPaDOnS.
Mes intérêts scientifiques couvrent la
polarimétrie d'étoiles jeunes T Tauri, l'astrobiologie
(utilisation de la spectropolarimétrie pour détecter des
signes de vie), la spectroscopie (étoiles Be
poussiéreuses), et l'imagerie optique et infra-rouge (recherche
d'étoiles jeunes de type Ae/Be de Herbig).
Depuis Juin 2007, je suis Directrice et Secrétaire au
Conseil de direction de la Société Canadienne
d'Astronomie (CASCA).
Lorsque je ne suis pas au travail, je m'amuse avec Jeff à
Ninole, où nous venons
d'emménager dans la maison
que nous avons bâtie et plantons des arbres sur une
propriété de 6 hectares.
