Jean-Pierre Barriot (Directeur Observatoire Géodésique de Tahiti) Title: The Geodesy Observatory of Tahiti : observations and ongoing research. Abstract: The Geodesy Observatory of Tahiti is a small observatory hosted by the University of French Polynesia, near Papeete. It is funded by NASA, the French Space Agency (CNES) and the University of French Polynesia (UPF.) It hosts an SLR (Satellite Laser Ranging) station, a DORIS station, several permanent GPS, and a network of tide gauges spanning all French Polynesia. Research activities are dedicated to the modeling of the repartition of the water vapor of the atmosphere from GPS data and to the modeling of erosion processes acting on the Tahiti Island. We added recently a new chapter: the modeling of the diameter of the Sun from photometric measurements taken during solar eclipses.
