Hello Yannick,

So far, 2008 is an excellent year! I hope you and all of the team at
Terapix are also doing extremely well.

I have cc'd the dog alias on this because it might be generally interesting.

The FITS tables for Legacy programs are generated a little differently
than the ones for PI programs. First let me describe how we normally
generate the tables for Legacy data. Then I will propose an option in
case this is difficult for the system you are planning:

Normally we generate a single FITS table for each legacy data release
(which is after each megacam run) and for this reason the table normally
includes rows for data from all the L programs in the release. To get
the entries for a specific program, like 06BL05, you would need to look
in the FITS tables of all five 06B CFHLS releases and filter for that
program ID. To show by example, I have put a copy of all of these five
FITS tables here:

In fact, this is not very different from a normal PI FITS table which
also includes a mix of science and calibration data, the only difference
is that Legacy tables include science data from multiple programs. Many
PI programs are also distributed after every camera run and as a result
you would need to read several FITS tables to get the complete data set.

If your system can handle this "many programs/many tables" format then
we can simply provide a method for you to automatically find the FITS
tables and download them. It is also possible that we could create new
FITS tables just for Terapix that include rows for only the requested
program. This would be less ideal because it would be query-driven (you
would need to ask for them) and because generating the tables actually
takes time, often more than 30 minutes, because data is collected from a
number of sources.

Good luck and let me know what else we can do to help!

Aloha,

-Kanoa
