magnitudes + new draft

Bonjour,

A quick check on the limiting magnitudes revised after the comparison
of the 12K versus MegaPrime throughput gives:

AB system B V R I
CFH12K 25.3 25.2 25.4 24.8
Old Megacam 25.6 25.3 25.5 24.9 (Olivier's values)

New Megacam 25.6 25.4 25.5 24.8 (now)

You see that the only change is in I (in the other bands, the changes
are less than .05 mg).

As r'~R, the limits in r' are similar to Olivier's values:
hence in 4min R=24.0
        2.5h R=26.0
         40h R=27.5
        100h R=28.0

As I said in my previous email, we should see how the I_AB magnitudes
given here translate into i', which is the magnitude to use in the
report.

I attached to this email a new version of the draft, with still a lot missing. I
didn't put anything on the deep field survey yet. I can cut and paste from
various proposals here and there if nothing comes.

I left for now the science case and description of the old SNe survey. I added,
with only some editing, the last contributions. No changes made to section 10
yet (waiting for your comments). Some modifications in the preamble. I'll revisit
the section on scheduling the CFHLS to incorporate the real mean number of gray
nights.

Yannick, any comment on the time to spend in the other colors for the WLS?

So, still a lot to be done. There are (hopefully) much less typos. Still some
cosmetics to be corrected though (math, symbols, ...). I plan to add a subsection
in 2 with the assumptions made on the MegaPrime overall efficiency.

Aloha

Christian
