CFHT Users' Meeting 2016 - 2nd Announcement

Registration and abstract submission remain open for the 11th Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Users' Meeting (UM) to be held at Le Saint-Paul Hôtel in Nice, France, May 1- 4, 2016. The meeting will provide an opportunity to showcase the world leading science undertaken by CFHT users through their participation in large programs and PI-led science.

The meeting will also be the place for the community to learn about the new instrument SITELLE that was just commissioned at CFHT, as well as the status of the facility and its full instrument suite. Reports about SPIRou and MSE development will be provided, together with research opportunities they will enable for our community.

Recent events effecting the Maunakea Observatories will be presented, to inform community discussions about future collaborative development across the Maunakea Observatories, identify risks and highlight opportunities.

Meeting sessions will cover the following topics:

  • CFHT and the future of the Maunakea Observatories
  • Science at CFHT, LPs and PIs
  • CFHT present and future instruments
  • CFHT Among 4m Class Telescopes Worldwide
  • Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE)
