Title: ATMOSPHERIX: atmospheric studies of exoplanets with SPIRou

Abstract:
In 2020, we created the ATMOSPHERIX consortium which gathers a large community of French-based researchers to study the atmosphere of exoplanets at high spectral resolution. This was motivated by the commissioning of SPIRou, which quickly proved to be among the 3 best instruments worldwide for such contemporary studies. In almost 5 years, we have observed several exoplanets and published results on the atmospheric composition, temperature and dynamics of these far away worlds. During this talk, I will present the observations we have made, the tools we developed and the results that we obtained within the ATMOSPHERIX consortium. I will discuss how high resolution spectroscopy is complementary to space based studies with the JWST to understand at depth planetary atmospheres. Finally, I will present how we integrated in the PLANETS large program, that extended our work through a collaboration between France and Canada and what are our goals regarding exoplanet atmospheres.
