Title: Intracluster light with UNIONS in a sample of 200 clusters

Presenter: Florence Durret

Abstract:

Intracluster light (ICL) can be considered as a tracer of dark matter in clusters, and can give indications on cluster formation and evolution processes. Based on deep data from the UNIONS/CFIS survey in the r band treated with the Elixir-LSB software, which was developed by J.-C. Cuillandre to allow the detection of low surface brightness features, we analyse the properties of the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) intracluster light in a large sample of over 200 clusters up to redshift z=0.6. We extract the contribution of BCG intracluster light with the wavelet-based DAWIS software developed by A. Ellien, which models all the objects in the image (stars and galaxies) and keeps as ICL the light corresponding to the largest scales, and derive several quantities such as the BCG ICL fraction, and analyse how these properties evolve with redshift, cluster mass, etc.
