Title: The Pristine survey: a window onto the details of the Milky Way formation and the first stars

Abstract:
The oldest stars of our Galaxy, the Milky Way, are messagers from the very early times. I will show how we can use the power of the Pristine survey, a wide narrow-band photometric survey of the Milky Way halo conducted at CFHT since 2015, to identify the most metal-poor (and therefore oldest) stars of our Galaxy. I will present how these can be combined with detailed astrometric and spectroscopic observations to constrain the assembly and evolution of the Milky Way in its infancy.
