This section is a test of different html "character emphasis modes."
This test is written in the "em", or emphasis mode.
Now we move to the "strong" mode. This style is "code".
This one is "sample", which is supposed to be a sequence of literal characters.
On to "keyboard" mode, which is used to mark keyboard entry.
A "variable" name, whatever that might be.
A "defining" term.
This mode is for a "citation." Since it might do strange things to the paragraph, I'll run it on for a bit more than the others. Perhaps this is long enough, but then maybe it isn't. If I do just one more line, that will have to be enough (and totally stupid, to boot).

This section is a test of the "physical styles."
This is the fixed width typewriter font.
This is boldface type.
This should be in italics.
This might be underlined.

This example is in the "preformatted" mode.
It will have all the spacing and line breaks of
the original text. This
might permit you to do
tables.

This one is "blockquote." Since it might do strange things to the paragraph, I'll run it on for a bit more than the others. Perhaps this is long enough, but then maybe it isn't. If I do just one more line, that will have to be enough (and totally stupid, to boot). OK, enough.

This is the "address" formatting mode.
