Day 10:   11 August 1999 - Kill Me Thrill Me
The name says it all.  This trail was incredible.  You start out with a long swtich back "rolley rock" climb with bits of short down hill and more climbing in between.

There there are tons of sections that wind in and around itself through forested pine trees.   There was a short wooden bridge that crossed a little creek.  The odd thing about it was there was this antique stove right beside the entrance to the bridge.  This was like dejavu....I had seen this place before.   But of course, this was on a back cover of one of the mountain biking magazines I just saw a few days earlier!  Cool!

Anyway, we eventually made it to a clearing over looking a helipad.   Then it was a long loose sandy down hill (very steep!).  We climbed up amongst the high power lines and then came up to the most gnarly sections of down hill I have seen.  Some of this stuff was WAY over my head and too insane to ride.  I rode what I could and had a blast!  Now I know why this ride is called KILL ME THRILL ME!

The picture is tilted for a reason.  Notice the trees growing straight up and you get and idea of how steep this stairway is

Notice the road below, the broken fence down below Troy's front wheel.

Okay, not much too describe here except don't panic, stay off the brakes!!
