A road trip through WI/IL/IN with my wife and our four kids made us stay for a few days in Door County. Radio was not first priority, but we set up the usual DX70/tuner/G5RV at a couple of places, one of them a few hundred meters from where we spent a few days close to Sturgeon Bay.

The reef was underwater and the lighthouse is now in town... A bit of research for maps and pictures and here I was, on a small peninsula just in front of the submerged reef. No need for a GPS to be sure about the location of the reef. Was a quiet morning just before hitting the road to Madison.

Location of the reef on the map

The mobile shack is on the small peninsula on the top of the picture,
and the reef is between us and the bridge.

No problem to find this lighthouse. Was a good stop on our way to Madison. Not that many contacts, mainly on 40m with local stations (timing was not good for propagation!)

The lighthouse

Plenty of trees for the G5RV...
