Pipeline goals

OPERA can be used to reduce ESPaDOnS data from CFHT or GRACES project.

Pipeline Systems

  • C/C++ modules and libraries
  • Can be run using makefiles or Python Gui
  • Download OPERA from SourceForge


  • ESPaDOnS data @ CFHT

  • Three observing modes: Star only (R~81,000) , Star+Sky (R~68,000) and Polarimetric (R~68,000);
  • Each observing mode can use up to three readout modes: Fast (4.12e, 1.51e/ADU), Normal (3.8e, 1.22e/ADU), Slow (2.99e, 1.09e/ADU);
  • Spectral range: 370 to 1,050 nm;


  • ESPaDOnS data @ Gemini North (GRACES)

  • Two observing modes: Star only (R~67,500) and Star+Sky (R~40,000);
  • Each observing mode can use up to three readout modes: Fast (4.12e, 1.51e/ADU), Normal (3.8e, 1.22e/ADU), Slow (2.99e, 1.09e/ADU);
  • Spectral range: 400 to 1,050 nm;
