These cameras operate 24 hours a day, and faithfully exhibit the dark of night. They may be periodically obscured by inclement weather such as fog, rain, ice, or snow. The "North" and "South" cameras are movable 'pan-tilt-zoom' cameras. Due to operational use of the cameras, the field and direction of view may temporarily change without warning. They will return to the standard position after use.

Images from these cameras are used to create daily timelapse videos.
These videos can be found on the CFHT Webcam Timelapses page.

Has the sun set and the image appears dark? Check out our low-light CloudCams!
They are specially designed to image the beautiful Maunakea sky on even the darkest of nights.
Find them on the CFHT CloudCams page.
