Waimea Solar System Walk    

The 2024 Waimea Solar System Walk and CFHT 45th Birthday Party!!

The Solar System Walk this year is adding a birthday treat for all attendees! The Walk is an in-person activity where participants travel through the solar system without ever leaving Waimea. It starts at the W.M. Keck Observatory headquarters in Waimea and continues through Waimea ending at the CFHT offices. Keiki who complete the walk will receive prizes from the tent at CFHT along with Halloween goodies.

2024 marks CFHT's 45th anniversay. To celebrate, we are expanding the traditional BBQ lunch at the end of the walk to include a bounce castle, face painting, a charity dunk tank, the band "Subject to Change" and more!

Additionally, the annual Solar System Walk Costume Contest will be held at 1pm at CFHT. Prizes for all ages will be given! Categories include:

Preschool
Elementary
11 + (including adults)
Group
Space Costume
Grand Prize
